Inspirography

Last Thursday I checked out the Professional Practice lecture with Helen Appio. It was interesting to see her work, gain insight on the path followed which led her to create documentary films and to listen to some inspiring  and positive advice.

In the evening I visited The Typographic Circle's opening show near Knightsbridge. This was the first typography only show I've been to and there were some really great pieces of work. It made me reconsider the substance of my ideas for the current Graphic Design brief after seeing how type can be used in various innovative ways.

Mr Erdos.

The first stage of the current Graphic Design project is to design a poster for a quote picked at random. My selection was 'A mathematician is a device for turning coffee into theorems', said by Hungarian mathematician Paul Erdos (1913-1996). Above is a quick sketch of the man himself.

Polite slip.

This is probably the most satisfying receipt I have ever come across. No brash 'buy one get one free' or '10% off' adverts sprawled across the back just a polite thanks in a polite typeface.
